Fischer-Hallman Road reopens after two-vehicle crash

Police continue to investigate a two-vehicle crash in the area of Fischer-Hallman Road and University Avenue West that brought a lengthy closure to the Tuesday morning drive.

It was around 6 a.m. when traffic spotters reached out to 570 NewsRadio with reports of a collision in that intersection, right on the border between Kitchener and Waterloo.

Regional police later confirmed that a closure had been put in place on Fischer-Hallman Road, between Glasgow Street and Thorndale Drive, for a collision investigation.

While details surrounding that crash are limited, a spokesperson with the service said one of the involved drivers has been transported to local hospital. The severity of their injuries is unknown.

An update provided just before 9 a.m. said that the closure in the area had been lifted.

The investigation is being handled by the Traffic Services Unit.
